Apply serum morning and evening to cleansed skin on face, neck, and décolleté. During the day, follow with Vinoperfect Radiance Moisturizer SPF 20For best results, top serum with the Vinoperfect Overnight Renewal Cream in the evening.

The Vinoperfect Radiance Serum from Caudalie of Paris is absolutely divine! I received the travel size version as an early birthday present (for my birthday in November), and I am thoroughly impressed! Initially, I didn’t think this small, unassuming serum would do much. However, after a recent onslaught of hyperpigmentation and moderate scarring after some hormonal acne, I was desperate to see if this Radiance Serum would work. I spot treated my “problem areas” by applying the serum (most days) morning AND night. I followed up with Causalie’s VinoSource Moisturizing Sorbet.

The serum has a a sheer, satiny, opaque, ivory color. The scent is lightly perfumey, yet refreshing and clean. The product’s moderate viscosity allows it to be applied easily via the bottle’s dropper lid top. Because the Radiance Serum is so lightweight, it was easily and quickly absorbed by my skin. It layered seamlessly under my makeup. It also played well with my other skincare products from other brands. I love how highly concentrated the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is. The bottle is small, and the product is expensive (retails for $79 for 1 oz.), however you only need a a few drops to spot treat. Seriously! I only used 3-5 drops (in total) to spot treat my “problem areas.” So, a little definitely goes a looooong way!

After only ONE week, I noticed about a 25% reduction in the darkness of the hyperpigmentation on my face and neck. The results were so apparent that I decided to start applying the serum under my eyes as well to help treat my dark circles. After TWO weeks, the dark spots and scarring had lightened by 50% (both in terms of size and color)! I’m currently on the beginning of my third week, and I have noticed a 50% reduction in my dark circles under my eyes, the hyperpigmentation I experienced is half gone, and my face and neck is almost acne scar-free! This is no small feat for someone with ultra sensitive combination skin.

The best part is that research supports my amazing results. In a clinical study, after 45 days of twice-daily use, out of 60 women aged between 34 and 56 years old, 87% reported brighter and more even complexions. 82% reported decreased dark spots. After 90 days of twice-daily use out of 60 women aged between 34 and 56 years old, 65% saw an increase in complexion radiance while 52% noted an increase in even skin. No wonder it was mentioned in Total Beauty’s 2017 Readers’ Choice Award for Dark Spot Corrector!

My results have been so astounding that family members and friends have been asking me about my skincare routine. Even strangers have commented on how amazing my skin looks! So, the Vinoperfect Radiance Serum from Caudalie of Paris is a surefire win!

Caudalie Vinoperfect Radiance Serum Complexion Correcting (30ml)
Paula's Choice RESIST C15 Super Booster 15% Vitamin C with Vitamin E and Ferulic Acid for All Skin Types - 0.67 oz

This Radiance Serum is comparable to the Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Superbooster I used a couple of years ago (in terms of price and performance). I haven’t really experienced any major skin problems since then. However, when some hormonal acne scarred my skin and caused moderate dark spots, I started to stress! What differentiates this Radiance Serum from the C15 Superbooster is its ability to also lighten my under-eye dark circles. As amazing as the C15 Superbooster was, it was never able to do that! Moreover, the Radiance Serum contains viniferine, an ingredient from the grape vine sap that is clinically proven to be 62 times MORE effective than Vitamin C! I would probably give the Paula’s Choice Resist C15 Superbooster a 3.5 to 4 out of 5 stars. This Vinoperfect Radiance Serum? It gets a solid 5 out of 5 stars, hand’s down! Here’s why …

♥ Serum is suitable for ALL skin types (normal, oily, dry, combination, or sensitive)

♥ Formula is highly concentrated (only a few drops are necessary to see visible results)

♥ Formula is not photo-sensitizing and is non-comedogenic

♥ Serum is formulated WITHOUT parabens, phthalates, and sulfates

♥ Serum is lightweight and penetrates skin almost immediately

♥ Serum works well under makeup and when layered under other skincare products

♥ Serum is moisturizing

♥ Reduces appearance of dark spots and hyperpigmentation

♥ Boosts radiance by brightening dull skin

♥ Promotes even skin

♥ Serum is oil-free

♥ Serum has a pleasant scent

♥ Serum has clinically proven results

Serum is expensive (retails for $79 for 1 oz.)

 Bottle is seemingly small

Caudalie’s Vinoperfect Radiance Serum is definitely worth its price tag! The Radiance Serum has left my skin smooth, even, and radiant. I’m certain that with continued use, my face will be completely restored and free of all dark spots. Due to the serum’s ability to regulate melanin, it has proven to be an excellent addition to my skincare arsenal. Want to give it as a gift (to yourself or a friend)? SK-II Facial Treatment Essence

SK_II Facial Treatment Essence Skincare Trial Kit ( 4 Items ) SKII, SK2

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence claims to address the five dimensions of beautiful skin: (1) reducing spots, (2) diminishing the appearance of wrinkles, (3) correcting skin texture, (4) improving firmness, and (5) elevating radiance. It contains 90% pure Pitera™ in every bottle. Pitera is a natural by-product of yeast fermentation that is rich in vitamins, amino acids, and minerals that help to heighten the skin’s natural surface-rejuvenation process. This product was also uniquely formulated to better assist skin with better absorbing serums and moisturizers. Your skin’s moisture is left replenished to help prevent dryness, its texture is smoothed for soft, even skin, and its renewal cycle is moderated.

Ingredients: Saccharomycopsis Ferment Filtrate**, Butylene Glycol, Pentylene Glycol, Aqua (Water/ Eau), Sodium Benzoate, Methylparaben, Sorbic Acid. *Pitera.

Directions: Sprinkle a teaspoon into your hands, then press the essence gently and evenly onto your face and neck. Your skin will absorb the essence quickly and naturally. Layer with your serum, moisturizer, and sunscreen, in that order.

I have sensitive, combination skin. My face tends to be super oily in my T-zone and dry to normal everywhere else. The first time I used this product, I was NOT impressed. It just seemed okay. I dripped some of the Treatment Essence onto my fingertips, but it was kind of watery and difficult to control/apply. While my skin felt soft after my initial application, the dry patches on my cheekbones were not fully moisturized. As a result, I added a few additional drops of product to my fingertips and applied it specifically to that area. My skin instantly looked and felt more hydrated.

Day 2, I only needed one application of the Essence. This time, I poured some of the product onto a cotton round and gently applied it to my face and neck. This technique seemed to work much better for me than the one suggested on the bottle (e.g., sprinkling a teaspoon of the product into your hands). By day 3, my skin seemed fully “adjusted” to the product. I didn’t notice an improvement in the texture of my skin, though, until after I had used the product for about 3 weeks. But, I absolutely love how light and refreshing this Treatment Essence is on my skin. And, I am grateful that it has such a neutral scent.

I usually think skin and hair care products with this kind of price tag are overrated. However, after extended use, I can definitely say that this miracle water is worth all the hullabaloo! My sensitive, combination skin feels much more balanced, smooth, and even. I recommend applying this treatment directly after cleansing your face (and before proceeding to your other facial serums and creams). After 4-5 weeks, I noticed a marked improvement in the fine lines on my face. I am a very expressive person, and had quite noticeable “laugh lines,” especially on my forehead. But, they are barely visible now unless I intentionally furrow my brows! Moreover, my T-zone doesn’t seem to be overproducing so much oil any more. I’ve noticed that my skin is much less oilier in that area, which is a HUGE plus!

My sensitive skin can sometimes appear a little dull from time to time. But, not anymore! After only a few weeks of using the Treatment Essence, I observed that my complexion seems overall much brighter. As a woman of color prone to hyperpigmentation (in the summer time), that’s no small task. The darkness under my eyes has lightened slightly and is much less pronounced. My face also feels firmer, too! In fact, my skin has been looking (and feeling) so great lately, I’ve only worn makeup TWICE in the last 6 weeks, and it wasn’t even my full-face routine! For added benefits, use twice a day (morning and night) and/or combine with SK-II’s Facial Treatment Clear Lotion.

SK_II, SK2 Facial Treatment Essence [Pitera Essence] 75ml / 2.5 oz

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence is not for the faint of wallet! My 5.4 oz container retails between $179 and $214, depending on the retailer and whether it is on sale. Although expensive, because of the concentrated formula and small amount that is needed each time, my 5.4 oz bottle will last for probably another 10-12 months (maybe even longer) given that I have barely put a dent in it after almost 2 months’ of use! However, because the Essence comes in a glass bottle, I was quite paranoid about dropping it and breaking it. This product is way too expensive for a mishap of that proportion! Every time I use the Essence, I feel the need to open the outer box carefully and gingerly untwist the top cap. This is certainly not a product you can be in a rush to use …

  • Great for MOST skin types (normal, dry, combination, and sensitive)
  • Minimizes fine lines and wrinkles
  • Softens skin
  • Moisturizes skin
  • Smooths the surface of skin
  • Not sticky or oily on the skin
  • Synthetic fragrance-free
  • Sulfate-free
  • GMO-free
  • Can be used twice daily
  • Great value; bottle will last a LONG time
  • Neutral fragrance

  • The cost; even the 2.5 oz travel-sized bottle sells between $89 and $99!
  • Contains paraben preservatives (e.g., methylparaben)
  • Not generally recommended for oily skin types
  • A little watery
  • Glass bottle looks gorgeous but can break easily

Want great skin? Skip the laser resurfacing treatment, and opt for this SK-II Facial Treatment Essence instead! It is definitely worth the investment.

I’ve been wanting to try something from the Mario Badescu skin care line for a while. My sister was given the strawberry face scrub, but she is allergic to strawberries! Needless to say, she immediately gave the scrub to me. (Thanks, sis! ;)) Appropriate for all skin types, this face scrub is made with real strawberry seeds that are supposed to gently remove dead skin cells, unclog pores, and prevent blackheads. I was a little skeptical at first. I’m not one to use food-based hair or skin care products, yet I was very curious whether this product would work for me. Surprisingly, it did!

INGREDIENTS: Deionized Water, Stearic Acid, Strawberry Extract, Seamollient, Propylene Glycol Dipelargonate, Polyglycol Ester, and Myristate DEA.

After cleansing my face with black soap, I lightly splashed my face with water. Then, I applied a small amount of the face scrub. A little goes a long way … I probably only used a ½ teaspoon for my whole face. Seriously! So, one 4 oz. jar should last quite a while. And, all I did was gently massage the scrub onto my skin with light, circular motions.

I have VERY sensitive combination skin. So, I have to be pretty careful when choosing skincare products. I have a very vivid memory of a so-called “gentle exfoliating cloth” that I used in the past that agitated and completely removed my top layer of facial skin! It took months for my face to recover from that innocent mistake. My skin was so irritated that I couldn’t even wear makeup. I still think of that memory and cringe sometimes.

Usually, even with facial scrubs that I like, my face is left slightly red and blotchy. Not so with this product! This strawberry scrub was truly gentle. It had a creamy, almost whipped, consistency. It wasn’t gritty like a salt or sugar scrub, yet it worked effectively to buff away the dry patches of skin I have near my cheekbones. I could really feel the strawberry seeds work their “magic”! The scrub balanced my combination skin perfectly without leaving my already oil-prone T-zone super slick. My skin felt so hydrated and soft after I rinsed the scrub off that I almost forgot to moisturize my face!

After just one use, my skin was left with a smoother, baby soft texture that I had a hard time not touching … and touching … Even sans makeup, my skin looks much healthier and more radiant. Any product that can do that to my skin without having to highlight and contour is worth its weight in gold! I will definitely be buying another jar when this one runs out. And, I love that this scrub is gentle enough to use two to three times a week. And, the scent? It is absolutely heavenly! It smells like strawberries and champagne. It’s like decadence in a jar. What more could a girl want?

The only criticism I have is that, over time, I had to remind myself to gently rub the scrub into my skin. The product worked so beautifully that I sometimes got a little overzealous during the application process. However, I think that is less of a con about the product and more of a self-reminder not to mistreat my sensitive skin.

Application while face scrub is still wet ...
