Gently shampoo hair with ApHOGEE Shampoo. Rinse thoroughly and towel dry as usual. Squeeze ½ ounce into palm. Using fingertips, work evenly through hair and into scalp. For maximum penetration, cover hair with warm towel, or plastic cap, for two minutes. For extreme cases, leave on for 5 minutes.* Rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Dry and style as usual.

NOTE: * This product is recommended after every chemical service. For severe breakage problems, ApHogee recommends one of their more intense treatment services.

The ApHogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor prevents breakage and split ends, combats heat and chemical damage, and adds body to hair for easier styling. This pH optimized reconstructor contains a concentrated blend of keratin amino acids, botanical oils, and vitamins. It has anti-oxidant rich green tea that works to protect, strengthen, soften, and restore hair to its former crown of glory. Recommended for use on tinted, bleached, relaxed, or damaged hair, ApHogee’s 2 Minute Reconstructor also helps to repair damage caused by chlorine and hard water. It soothes irritated scalps and may be applied following each shampooing until the healthy condition of the hair is restored.

This two-minute treatment smells like a tropical oasis. It has the fragrance of a piña colada. I’m not a huge fan of coconut scents, but this one isn’t too bad. It’s relatively bearable. It has an  über thick consistency that has to be almost coaxed out of the pour spout. But, a little goes a long way …

In the past, I used this reconstructor both prior to flat ironing my hair and after wearing my straightened hair for a week as an extra preventative measure against heat damage. However, as you know, I have been battling tangles and single strand knots (SSKs) like crazy off and on since the beginning of last year. So, when I opened my beauty cabinet and saw two bottles of this reconstructor staring back at me, it suddenly dawned on me that maybe it was time to reintroduce this back into my weekly regimen.

I have been using this treatment weekly for two months faithfully, and my hair is now tangle-free. I thought this day would never come! I am continuing to retain length while minimizing breakage and preventing split ends. I no longer have a head full of SSKs. Moreover, I have less shedding and hair fall. There aren’t as many strands lingering in my shower stall or hiding in my comb. And, my hair doesn’t constantly feel dry and dehydrated.

I also have noticed less frizz, which is a BIG deal for me because my hair has been frizz-prone since childhood! Sigh. Overall, the reconstructor has made my previously tangled hair softer, more manageable, and stronger. I am completely amazed. It’s like a little miracle in a bottle! So, if your hair thirsts for a deep, penetrating treatment that is also safe and effective, this reconstructor is the one I would reach for time and again. It is gentle enough to be added to your weekly regimen and yet strong enough to reverse brittle hair and repair light to moderate cuticle damage. A definite must for my relaxed hair divas or color-treated naturalistas!
